So many of you loved the colorful Farm Rio pieces I reviewed earlier this season, I was excited to find another stunning piece that fit perfectly off the rack this time! I wore this last weekend with my Schutz platforms for my friend’s wedding rehearsal event, and then again with flats for a Mother’s Day outing with my mom and the kids.
Farm Rio Eyelet Dress
I bought this thinking I’ll probably need to shorten the straps (since it’s in regular sizing), but was pleasantly surprised at how well everything fit with no adjustments! It hits ankle length on me with flats on, and is also gorgeous for dressier events. This dress is also available in white here!
One of my favorite details are the fabric “bead” straps that are soft and comfortable against the skin. The torso is fitted on me in size XXS (fits like a 00) with minimal stretch and a back zipper closure. The entire dress is eyelet lace with a half slip skirt underneath. I go either bra-less or with my usual nippies in this dress.
Measurements of XXS when lying flat: 14.75″ across bust, 12.25″ across waist, 17″ across hips, 12.5″ from straps to waistline and 48.5″ total length.
On Rio: Little Planet organic cotton stripe set 3T, Native sandals
On Nori: Edited Pieces dress 4T, Amazon hat (for adults), jelly shoes
I was shopping for a good quality linen-like summer set for Rio and am super happy with this one! The quality is great and the fabric is very soft for little ones, and looks cuter in person than pictured above. It looks big on Rio since I sized up, but the set runs TTS. The sandals are a hand-me-down from big sis and are awesome – very lightweight, water-friendly, and both straps are adjustable. We have them in several sizes and colors!
Nori’s dress is part of our Edited Pieces mommy and me dresses that are back this summer – see this older blog post for detailed info on the dresses. Her jelly sandals are also a favorite from last year and are lightweight and easy to snap on. One of the very few neutral pieces I got her that she actually loves!
Modern Picnic Mini Luncher
I also wanted to mention this chic little bag from a new-to-me brand, Modern Picnic. Aesthetically, the look is just what I was looking for in a summer handbag, but as a bonus, it’s designed as a lunch bag so is doubly functional with an insulated, easy-to-wipe-clean interior plus utensil pockets.
The mini size (more colors here) works well for me as an everyday summer bag and is convenient to keep the kids’ fruit and a canned drink cool, if needed. I love that it can be hand carried or worn crossbody with the adjustable and removable shoulder strap.
